Tome Of Maps: Forest Edition! A Forest Battlemap Book for your TTRPG Games!

Created by Snowy's Maps

The Tome of Maps: Forest Edition is an 82-paged physical dry-erasable forest battlemaps book for your favourite TTRPG games! I have designed them personally with portability and flexibility in mind - so there are three different ways to play. If you have limited space, playing on a single or double page would be for you. HOWEVER, if you like big combats, then you can put two books together to form a massive A2 battlemap.

Latest Updates from Our Project:

Fulfilled?
over 1 year ago – Thu, Oct 17, 2024 at 09:00:01 AM

Hey all! I just wanted to let you know that ALL digital rewards should have gone out via BackerKit just now (via email - from BackerKit)! I THINK this should work okay via Google Drive links and stuff, and shouldn't require you to lock down an order. PLEASE shout at me if you didn't get the right rewards and I will fix that for you. :D

Physical rewards are also all packaged up and starting to be shipped out. I have random small paper cuts I keep discovering on my hands but it was worth packaging up all 72 parcels in one evening. :D

I am still working out how not to overwhelm the postman, but think I will just drop them all off at the post office over the course of the next week. So most should arrive by the end of October!

Anyways, I hope you enjoy the rewards. Happy gaming!

Getting So Close Now I Can ALMOST Taste It!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 15, 2024 at 03:16:45 PM

Hey all! Just wanted to provide a near enough final ish update regarding this Kickstarter campaign. First of all, I did a slight oopsies - please read all PHYSICAL backers (nothing badd, just weird XD).

Stripe Bank Descriptor

For some reason I had my Stripe bank descriptor set to "www.patreon.com" despite not being set up for Patreon in this case. This means in your bank it might look like Patreon charged you, but should've been BackerKit.

I think this is from when I set up my profile and it decided to set it to my "website", which I set to my Patreon XD. Apologies for the trouble caused!

Progress!

What can I say...everything is done and ready to go...except Roll20. We've just got to wait for approval there before I can get the codes, but it should be soon. All other digital rewards are complete and ready to be distributed (might not wait for Roll20, and instead send them out at a later date).

For PHYSICAL backers, everything is now in the system for 72/79 of you. All I need to do is buy the postage, organise everything and get them shipped out. I imagine this might start happening on Thursday night, which most of you (maybe minus the Brits) will get next week (or the week after).

Oneshot Sneak Peek

What I like to do for these releases is share the background with everyone to give a little bit of a taster about what the adventure is about. So here's a little sneak peek!

Lurking in the Dark - a DnD5e/PF2e oneshot for 4-6 level 3 adventurers.

Gravehart Woods is a thick temperate forest with a tragic history. The trees were planted in honour of Lilith, a witch who devoted her life to villagers within Antira, a village that once resided in the heart of these woods. Despite this, a traveller reported the witch to imperial mages, which upon investigating this absurd claims, found and took Lillith away, never to be seen again. The villagers of Antira were distraught, for who would look after them now?

After the villagers planted trees surrounding Antira in Lillith's honour, they decided to stage a revolt, attempting to overwhelm the local lord with some allies from other villages nearby. Both sides clashed near Antire, although the villagers' efforts were in vain, for they were all slaughtered. Any survivors fled, and Antira was left in ruin.

It is said that the woods thrived, perhaps on the fallen friends of Antira, or perhaps the local lord envoked the wrath of Lillith. Either way, travellers avoid these woods, for Gravehart Woods is said to invoke a deep and painful curse on those that enter its very heart.

New Project Reminder!

I know I have shouted this out multiple times by now, but in one month we will be jumping straight into the next project - the Tome of Maps: City Edition. As we speak, I am preparing to send out a few review copies (which aren't the final product, only part of it but should give a general idea!).

This SHOULD go live between the 12th-19th November and finish JUST before Christmas. Unfortunately, that wouldn't give me enough time to get it out FOR Christmas, and therefore delivery will be in EARLY 2025 (Jan-Feb). I just want to make that clear because I don't want to get hopes up. BUT there will be early bird discounts with this new project too!

Due to go live mid-November 2024.

If you're interested, I would definitely urge you to give it a follow! Hoping to post more sneaky peeks soon. :D

Thank You!

And lastly, I just wanted to say thank you so much for the support again. It means a lot to be able to do this and bring my ideas to actual tabletops and to see it in action. Honestly! And I wouldn't have been able to do it on my own - that's for sure. :P

Teeny Update!
over 1 year ago – Tue, Oct 08, 2024 at 03:41:29 PM

Hey all - extremely quick update for the physical backers in particular! I just wanted to let you know that the first batch of cards just got charged and addresses will be locked tomorrow (9th October 2024). If you are not in this first batch do not be alarmed, I should be able to set later batches of orders!

Minor Progress

Also update on progress - most of the digital rewards are nearly ready to go - just got to finish pieces of the oneshot and also need to work out the final steps regarding Roll20! Stay tuned!

City Battlemap Book?

The good news is that my city battlemap book samples came for reviewers (about half the size of what to expect). The problem is a minor...maybe major printing error in them where the pages have been oriented the wrong way. They work great for the single pages but do not match at all for the double page spread XD

Here's a little snippet of my issue at the end of my latest TikTok video!

I am HOPING to launch this project in mid-November, and hopefully get to 100 followers before then! So if you haven't checked it out yet, please be sure to do so here:

Anyway, this was just a quick late night update - so expect more pretty pictures soon XD

IT'S HERE!
over 1 year ago – Thu, Sep 26, 2024 at 02:36:59 PM

Hey all! Just wanted to send out a quick update regarding the status of the campaign and where we are in terms of fulfillment. THE BOOKS HAVE ARRIVED! And oh boy, I wasn't expecting to receive a stack of boxes taller than me! :D

If you want a little bit more of a sneak peek, check out this quick little video I just filmed!

Anyways, A Little Update!

Physical addresses need to be sorted by the 7th of October. I am MISSING 14/67 physical backer addresses - orders WILL be locked ON this date with bank cards being charged the day after. PLEASE make sure you sort this out if you haven't already!

Shipping should START to happen around the 15th of October. Digital rewards will go out around then too!

New Project Reminder!

If you haven't yet, I would definitely urge you to follow my next project, which will be a city themed battlemap book!

Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/snowysmaps/tome-of-maps-city-shop-battlemap-book-for-your-ttrpg-games

I have been working a little bit on this in the background so I can get a smaller version printed and sent to reviewers in a few weeks (if you know anyone who might like to review this please let me know)! Check out my TikTok for some sneaky peeks and behind the scenes footage there too! :D

I hope to go live with this project in November, although will be clear - fulfillment will happen in early 2025 (mostly due to how Kickstarter works with funds, and then shipping etc). However, I do have some freebies on the pre-launch page that you can check out! ^^

Also feel free to leave some ideas in the comments about what you might like in this battlemap book! I am focusing on smaller buildings to make sure it can still be played in three ways, but is also fully modular, however, that doesn't mean a whole page can't be dedicated to markets for instance (I have this one already XD).

Anyways, that's all for now! I'm super excited to have the book in person, and I can't wait for you all to have it too!

A Bountiful Update! Progress!
over 1 year ago – Mon, Sep 16, 2024 at 02:58:23 PM

Hi all! Just wanted to send out a new update regarding the status of this campaign! Here's an update on progress!

Progress!

  • JPGs are complete!
  • DD2VTTs are complete!
  • FoundryVTT module is complete! Roll20 is nearly sorted. :D
  • Printable PDF is done!
  • Physical books have now been ordered - due to arrive within 3 weeks.
  • Stretch Goals are a WIP: Monsters are nearly complete, and the oneshot is going well! ^^
  • SURVEYS - due to go out VERY soon for all physical tiers. A small test sample went out a few days ago, and has been mostly smooth! I MAY also do this for digital tiers and distribute rewards via BackerKit, but will keep you updated on that. :)

New Cover!

We wanted to make our front cover design more streamlined and consistent with future battlemap designs - here is a sneak peek at that design!

New Battlemap Book Project!

Yup - working on another new project. I asked all 130 of you what theme should be next and BY far, the winner was CITY. More than 30% of you suggested a city/shop theme! I've now put this into pre-launch BUT want to be clear! This city battlemap book project will NOT launch until the current one is fulfilled. I would definitely urge you to check out the pre-launch page, as there are some freebies there. :D

Link: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/snowysmaps/tome-of-maps-city-shop-battlemap-book-for-your-ttrpg-games?ref=92hkz4

This one is MORE unique in that you can to put ANY two sets of pages from two battlemap books together (rather than a select two sets of pages) to make a huge A2 battlemap!

Anyway, that's all for now! Keep an eye out for the surveys - they should be out shortly after this update!
